As you both fall asleep that night, the intense conversation still fresh in your mind, you can’t shake off the feeling of unease. The next morning, you wake up to find your girlfriend has already left for work. Alone in the apartment, you can’t help but ruminate over her question from yesterday. Was it just a passing thought or something she had been considering for a while?
You remember the camera you bought last month for added security during holidays. After a few minutes of hesitation, you pull out the box from the cupboard and start scanning the apartment. A sudden impulse takes over and you decide to install the camera in the living room instead of the corridor. It’s easier to hide among the clutter and will capture more if needed.
Sweat beads on your forehead as you carefully place the camera among the knick-knacks on the cupboard. You remind yourself that you can always claim it was there all along, installed a month ago for testing purposes. But deep down, you know this is a desperate attempt to ease your growing suspicions about her true intentions.
